One of the most common mistakes made by psoriasis patients is frequent bathing and showering. The skin is an organ that is fed with oil. Frequent bathing, especially in winter, disrupts the oil and moisture balance of the skin. It causes drying and cracking on the skin. Stating that this drying and cracking causes psoriasis on the skin to increase and the lesions intensify, Dr. Mehmet İlteber Bahadır, we recommend that patients take a bath at most 3-4 times a week during the winter period. He said that this is enough for the skin to reach sufficient oil level. Again, in the winter period, we recommend that patients use some oils that nourish the skin, especially on the arms and legs, before leaving the house in the morning.
